FUN FACTS:

  • I grew up in Ellicott City, MD and played all sorts of sports. Most of my athletic career was spent playing lacrosse. More recently, I have found a love for volleyball, a sport where being tall and lanky is actually an advantage. I also love training and doing anything outdoors (hiking, biking, camping, etc).
  • I've had diabetes for 16 years. My life with this disease has lead me into this career path, and wanting to help others improve their health. After college, I plan to continue to share my love of health and wellness through pursuing some sort of career where Ill be able to help people directly improve their lives. Whether that career is in endocrinology. chiropractic, physical therapy or even teaching, I plan to continue using a functional medicine/integrative health approach. This basically means I plan to use movement, exercise and nutrition to treat/rehab/help to improve health in general with a holistic approach to all forms of wellness. Focusing on every aspect of a patients life and combining traditional medicine, lifestyle medicine, alternative medicine and self care will help me to provide the most effective care to a wide variety of populations.
  • When it comes to my own training, I like to focus on "movement" rather than "exercise". I try my best to move as much as possible throughout the day, and incorporate simple, effective strength training as much as possible (Gymnastics, kettlebells, bodyweight training, etc). Living this lifestyle, along with proper nutrition has made the BIGGEST difference for me in controlling and managing my T1 Diabetes.
  • I've been working as bicycle mechanic since I started college. If I’m not doing something fitness related or studying, you’ll most likely find me working on or riding bikes. (fun fact: my parents actually met on a bike trail)
  • When I was in kindergarten, I lost my first tooth by running face first into another students forehead
  • When I was 10 years old, I won a raffle where I got a $200 gift card to Dicks Sporting Goods and got to walk around the store and spend it with Haloti Ngata (who is now a def. tackle for the Philadelphia Eagles)
